My side

My side

There is nothing to see on my side
Yet the early sun sits on the water
That alone would have been enough

There is nothing to see on my side
Yet the clouds shadow the sea
Their giant white heads silver and grey

There is nothing to see on my side
Yet the sky is dissected by the wing
Pulled along like a piece of heavy cross

There is nothing to see on my side
Yet the sun falls on my face
Partly shadowing me

Picton

Picton

Its loading now
I can hear it
Its dark
Its raining
Drizzle
I think they call it
Although
I cant quite remember
A name
A single orange
Street light
By the inlet
Dark and cold
I walk

Its loading now
I can hear it
Vibrating
The whole place
Unspoken
Acceptance
Others wouldn’t know
I talk

Its loading now
I can hear it
Some kind of excitement
About the island
Past this place
Changing
The wind has got up
Torn plastic sways
Like prayer flags
On the restored hotel
Dark empty
Concrete and cold
I run my finger
Along the plastic

I can hear it
Its loading
